WNBA Rivals Week puts playoff pressure on Aug. 14 matchup
The official WNBA preview puts Friday's Dallas–Indiana meeting at the centre of a 20-game rivalry week with playoff implications.

The WNBA’s official preview says the second annual Rivals Week runs from Aug. 8 through Aug. 14, with 20 games built around established and emerging rivalries across the league. With the week already under way, the Dallas Wings’ visit to the Indiana Fever is the remaining matchup with the clearest playoff-race angle.
Dallas at Indiana on Aug. 14
The Wings are scheduled to visit the Fever on Friday, Aug. 14, at 7:30 p.m. ET. The WNBA lists ION and League Pass as the viewing options in its preview. Entering Rivals Week, both teams were 19–11, placing the meeting in a tightly packed part of the playoff race.
A meeting shaped by recent draft history
The official preview highlights a rare concentration of top draft talent: Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd, the first picks in the 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 WNBA drafts. Dallas won the teams’ first meeting of the season 107–104 on May 9. The league says a Dallas win on Aug. 14, or in the teams’ Aug. 20 meeting, would give the Wings the season series.
What is confirmed
This is a schedule and storyline preview, not a prediction. Tip time, broadcast information and later changes should be checked against the WNBA’s official listings before publication or viewing.
